GRAMMY IN THE SCHOOLS
For High School and University Students
An "Unvarnished" View of the Recording Industry
In the four years since the first Grammy In The Schools
was held in New York, this innovative Recording
Academy project has earned recognition as one of the
country's premier music education programs. The
recipient of the 1990 Award of Excellence in Education
from the American Society of Association Executives,
Grammy In The Schools is a nationwide series of music
career days aimed at high school and university students.
Through free lectures and workshops with such recording
industry personalities as Hammer, Henry Mancini,
Suzanne Vega, Jerry Moss, Lalo Schifrin, Al Jarreau, Bruce
Lundvall and Garth Brooks, students get practical advice
on their own careers as well as an insider's perspective on
how the industry works as a whole.
